Both drivers injured in U.S. 61 crash

BOWLING GREEN, Mo. -- Both drivers were injured in a Wednesday night crash on U.S. 61 at Route UU.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that a 2013 Dodge Charger driven by Jermaine A. Chatman, 42, of Louisiana, Mo., was heading south and failed to yield to a westbound 2011 Harley-Davidson driven by Richard M. Matthews, 24, of Troy. The patrol said the front of the motorcycle struck the front driver's side of the Dodge.

Matthews was taken by Pike County EMS to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis with serious injuries.

Chatman was taken by Pike County EMS to Pike County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
