Bond hearing set in Hannibal shooting death

HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Corey L. Cobb will appear before Judge John Jackson on Friday for a bond hearing.

Cobb, 26, of Hannibal, faces one count of second-degree murder in the June 4 shooting death of Billy R. Williams of Hannibal.

Cobb was arrested on a warrant by U.S. Marshals on June 17 in St. Louis. Bond on the warrant was set at $1 million.

The shooting occurred about 9:17 p.m. in the 2100 block of Gordon.

The Hannibal Police Department said upon arrival, officers found Williams, who had been shot. Williams was then taken by Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital, where he later died.

Cobb continues to be held in the Marion County Jail.
