Quincy man injured in crash at 48th, Ill. 96

QUINCY -- A Quincy man was injured in a Thursday afternoon crash at the intersection of South 48th and Ill. 96.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department said that a 2005 Pontiac Montana driven by Harold Hyslop, 63, of Quincy, was stopped at the intersection at 3:21 p.m. as a 2002 Chevrolet pickup driven by Cody Welte, 18, of Quincy, was heading north on Ill. 96.

The department said the Hyslop vehicle pulled into the path of the Welte vehicle, which struck the side of the Hyslop vehicle.

Hyslop was extricated from his vehicle. He was taken by Adams County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital with minor injuries. Welte refused medical treatment at the scene.

Hyslop was cited for failure to yield at a stop intersection.

The department was assisted by Tri-Township Fire Department and Adams County Ambulance.
