When I was a kid, I wanted to be ... Growing up in the 50s, I was going to be the next center fielder for the Yankees. Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle and me.

What would you rather be doing right now? Sitting at a game at Wrigley Field or wandering any Civil War battlefield.

Shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone that ... I failed the same P.E. class in college twice.

Other than your wedding day and/or the birth of your children, what was your proudest moment? Graduating from medical school, as it was a second career I pursued at age 34.

It really stinks when ... someone assumes you're on social media.

What word in the dictionary would your face be next to? I'm not sure it's a real word; however, let's say Cubfan.

I always laugh when ... my grandchildren are around.

Invite any three people, living or dead, to dinner. Who are they? My grandfather, father and brother. We are generational Cub fans, and they did not get to experience the 2016 World Series. I'd like to tell them how special it was to be there representing them. There are Angels in the Ivy.

At the end of a really long day at work, I like to ... read The Quincy Herald-Whig and solve the crossword puzzle.

People who knew me in high school thought I was ... an underachiever and a little wild. Fortunately, I got over that.

My most unforgettable brush with greatness was ... meeting Dom DeLuise on Bourbon Street. He was really funny, even with a chance meeting.

I would drop all my plans tonight if I had the chance to ... go with my sons to a Cub game.

If someone gave me a million dollars, there is STILL no way I would ... go to Disney World in the summer.

America should be more concerned about ... the great responsibility that accompanies great freedom. We sometimes forget the high price for the freedom we enjoy.

I'm OK if there's ever a national shortage of ... Wi-Fi.

When I'm on the internet, I always go to ... Google to find the thing I'm looking for, as I'm not much for random browsing.

What is the most useful piece of advice you have ever received? "Where there's a will, there's a way." My brother said that when I was trying to decide about medical school.

When I'm cruising down the road, I'm likely listening to ... Rush Limbaugh or Garrison Keillor. Now that's a pair.

I always get sentimental when ... looking at pictures of my children when they were little.

The older I get, the more I realize ... God's miracles are there if you open your heart and eyes.

If I had one "do-over," I would ... work a bit less to spend more time with my family.

My favorite item of clothing is ... a throwback jersey for the Chicago Federals, which pre-date the Cubs, and it's lucky for my pilgrimages to Wrigley Field.

If I've learned anything at all ... The greatest secret is there are no secrets.
