All-time series: Truman State leads 62-61.

Last meeting: Feb. 23, 2019 -- Truman State 92, QU 76. The Bulldogs were up 19 points at halftime and never were threatened. Cade McKnight led Truman State with 17 points, while Brodric Thomas had 14 points and six rebounds. Demetrius Houston led the Hawks with 16 points, while Aziz Fadika had 11 points and seven rebounds.

Inside the matchup: The biggest task facing the Hawks in the GLVC opener is stopping Bulldogs guard Brodric Thomas. The 6-foot-5 senior guard is averaging 24.7 points and 6.1 rebounds while shooting 53.8 percent from the floor and 78.4 percent from the line. He's scored 30 or more points twice, has been named the GLVC Player of the Week once and hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer in a 71-68 victory over No. 7 Missouri Southern. Matching up with him physical is a challenge for the Hawks, who may use junior guard Charles Callier to negate some of Thomas' length. The Bulldogs have other options as sophomore forward Cade McKnight is averaging 13.3 points and sophomore guard Hunter Strait is scoring 10.1 points per game. McKnight has played in only four games, and he had just two minutes last Friday against Newman and didn't play Saturday against Washburn. Hawks guard Austin Downing missed last Wednesday's game against MacMurray with a wrist injury but is expected to return. He is averaging 14 points and five assists per game. Junior forward Tanner Stuckman leads the Hawks in scoring (20 ppg), rebounding (6.8 rpg) and playing time (36.6 minutes per game).
