DETROIT, Ill. -- A second Hannibal man has been arrested in the Sept. 24 theft of a Suzuki motorcycle from a Detroit home.

Pike County Sheriff David E. Greenwood said in a release that David L. Meyers, 20, was arrested Oct. 28 and taken to the Marion County Jail. He has since been transferred to the Pike County Jail.

Meyers has been charged with theft of an item valued at more than $500.

The Pike County Sheriff's Department arrested Corey A. Roach, 27, of Hannibal, on Oct. 3. Roach, who faces similar criminal charges, remains in the Marion County Jail on other charges.

Authorities began investigating after the Illinois State Police were contacted by the motorcycle owner, who said the motorcycle had been stolen during the night. The state police then contacted the county sheriff's department. Both law enforcement agencies reviewed footage from various surveillance cameras that helped them identify suspects. They also conducted multiple interviews.
