SHELBINA, Mo. -- A Bowling Green teen was injured in an early Thursday morning crash just west of the Shelbina city limits.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that a 2013 Kia Rio driven by Dillon C. Burbridge, 19, was traveling east on U.S. 36 at 12:15 a.m. The patrol said the driver fell asleep, and the vehicle ran off the south side of the road, struck a cement culvert and came to rest on its wheels facing east.

Burbridge, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Salt River Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

The patrol was assisted by the Shelbina Police Department and the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.
