We need innovations to encourage recycling

To The Herald-Whig:

Why has a neighbor given up on recycling aluminum, steel, plastic food containers, paper magazines, church bulletins the list goes on and on? My neighbor gets rid of plastic, cardboard and metals. Anything that they do not want, they throw in a trash bag.

Why has there been no action on bringing back what was offered in the past, drop-off recycling?

Why are students not given an education on the inventions of the past that allowed Quincy Recycle to start its business?

The popular "Sesame Street" book title "It's Not Easy Being Green" has been used as a popular saying on Earth Day every year. The state of Iowa has a 5-cent deposit on every bottle.

What is your opinion on a 5-cent deposit on all grocery store bottles and what other innovations could be implemented to encourage more recycling?
