DOWNING, Mo. -- Three teens and a child were injured in a Saturday night crash in Downing.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Ford Mercury Sable driven by Shelby D. Bennett, 19, of Downing, was northbound on Route A in Downing at 9 p.m. and failed to stop at a stop sign at U.S. 136. The patrol said the Mercury hit an eastbound 2005 Ford Explorer on U.S. 136 driven by Anthony R. Miller, 34, of Arbela.

Four passengers in the Explorer -- Jayden W. Burgess, 14, of Arbela; Sabrina I. Hiemer, 13, of Memphis; and Bryson W. Miller, 8, and Kayden A. Miller, 12, both of Arbela and Miller's sons -- were taken to Scotland County Hospital in Memphis with minor injuries.

The patrol said both drivers and all the passengers were wearing seat belts.

The patrol was assisted by the Schuyler County Sheriff's Department, Schuyler County ambulance and Schuyler County First Responders.
