Kentucky man seriously injured in Clark County crash

KAHOKA, Mo. -- A Kentucky man was seriously injured in a Sunday night crash southeast of Kahoka.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2001 Dodge Durango driven by Earl R. Harrell, 19, of Kahoka, was southbound on County Road 165, 3 miles southeast of Kahoka, at 5:30 p.m. The patrol said the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, collided with an embankment and overturned.

A passenger, Jerry S. Cline, 42, of Barbourville, Ky., was taken by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., with serious injuries. Harrell was taken by private vehicle to Scotland County Hospital with minor injuries. Neither was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

The patrol was assisted by the Clark County Sheriff's Department, Clark County EMS and Clark County Rescue.
