Missouri prep baseball roundup: Palmyra wins twice in own cluster

The Palmyra baseball team used a strong relief pitching appearance from Caden Power, and a solid outing from Corder Lehenbauer to grab a pair of victories in the Palmyra Cluster Saturday at Flower City Park.

Palmyra opened with an 11-6 victory over Montgomery County and followed with a 12-2 victory over Moberly.

Against Montgomery County, Power threw four shutout innings, allowing just one hit and struck out three. Montgomery County cut into a 7-0 deficit with a six-run fourth inning that brought Power into the game.

Palmyra responded with a four-run fifth inning and added another run in the sixth.

Nolan Wosman went 4 for 4 with two homers and drove in seven runs. Peyton Abbott had three hits and scored two runs for Palmyra.

Against Moberly, Lehenbauer allowed just two runs on six hits while striking out eight across five innings for the Panthers.

Palmyra scored six times in the third inning for a 6-2 lead, and added four more runs in the fourth.

The Panthers had 10 hits, and five different players drove in a run.

Mason Scholl drove in four runs. Power also had two hits and two RBIs.

Bowling Green 13, Canton 10: The Bobcats scored all 13 of their runs in the first innings to pull away from the Tigers in Canton, Mo.

Canton got on the board with three runs in the bottom of the first inning, and scored five more runs in the fourth but couldn't keep up.

Canton banged out 13 hits total.

Kegan Birke had a solo home run, while Carson Birck had two hits and scored three runs. Trevor Logsdon had a double and two RBIs for the Tigers.

Scotland County 13, Salisbury 9: Will Fromm had four hits and five RBIs to lead the Tigers to the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament victory in Moberly, Mo.

Fromm drove in four runs in Scotland County's 10-run third inning, hitting a two-run single and a two-run triple. Scotland County led 10-1 after the frame.

Branton Burrus picked up the victory, allowing just one and two runs across four innings. He struck out eight.

Scotland County 15, Schulyer County 0: Fromm threw three scoreless innings to help the Tigers win a second game in the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament.

Fromm allowed only two hits and struck out six.

Scotland County banged out 15 hits. Kaden Anders had two hits and three RBIs for the Tigers.

Southern Boone 10-6, Hannibal 0-3: The Pirates were swept in a twinbill on the road.

Hannibal led 2-1 through three innings in the second game, but Southern Boone took the lead for good with a three-run fourth inning.

Charle Culp, Chase Kirby and Adam Baxter all had RBIs for the Pirates.

In the opener, Hannibal had just one hit in the shutout loss. That hit was a double hit by Will Whitaker.
