Durbin, Duckworth both voted against life

To The Herald-Whig:

It is unbelievable that both of our U.S. senators from Illinois would vote for infanticide by voting no on the Born Alive bill last week in the Senate.

Durbin always has been a staunch supporter of Planned Parenthood, but this vote is nothing short of being an accessory to murder.

Duckworth is the one I'm most staggered by. As a new mom herself, to vote for this bill is incomprehensible.

Someone tried to abort her life while in the military by shooting down her helicopter, and she was badly maimed. She wasn't just left to die, and she wasn't just made "warm and comfortable" while she died. No, she was saved by the best medical attention due her life.

I would think both of these facts, being a new mom with a precious baby and a survivor of an attempt on her life, would cause her to vote for babies' lives, not against them.
