QUINCY -- The YMCA is offering the opportunity for teens ages 14 to 18 to attend the North Carolina Outward Bound School Expedition in Asheville, N.C. Outward Bound is a nonprofit educational organization that serves people of all ages and circumstances through challenging learning expeditions that focus on character development, leadership and service.
At Outward Bound, students will work together to live and travel in the wilderness. Through these experiences, participants learn life skills like leadership, grit, communication, conflict resolution and teamwork.
For the past four years, the Tracy Family Foundation has provided scholarships to Adams, Brown and Pike County students who want to attend the program.
