NEW SALEM, Ill. -- A Baylis woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 5:15 p.m. Thursday in Pike County.

The Illinois State Police said Rebecca L. Durbin, 35, was driving a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan east on County Highway 2, a quarter mile east of 360th Street, when the driver swerved to avoid a deer crossing the road. The car went out control, ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.

Durbin, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries and was taken by the Pike County Ambulance Service to Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield.

The Baylis Fire Department also assisted at the crash scene.
