Hannibal woman hospitalized after swerving to miss deer

HANNIBAL -- A Hannibal woman was taken to a hospital Tuesday after a crash three miles south of Hannibal.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Angel M. Douse, 40, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Spark on Route HH at 5:15 p.m., when she swerved to miss a deer and drove off the road, hitting a ditch.

Douse was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital by Marion County Ambulance and treated for moderate injuries.

The car she was driving sustained extensive damage. Douse was wearing a seat belt.

Assisting at the scene were the Ralls County Sheriff's Department and Hannibal Rural Fire Department.
