QUINCY -- Arts Quincy, in conjunction with the Illinois Veterans Home and Quincy Art Center, will be conducting the second session of Made in America: Veterans Art Program this month.
The program is free to veterans living in the area and provides them a means to express themselves through the arts, improve their overall well-being and provide fellowship with fellow veterans.
The summer session is a ceramic slab and coil vessel clay class from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. July 11, 18, 25 and Aug. 1 at Quincy Art Center, 1515 Jersey.
To ensure enough supplies, participants are asked to register before July 10. Sign up online at artsquincy.org/MadeInAmerica or call 217-222-3432 or 217-222-8641 ext. 359. Another session is planned in September that will focus on cartooning.
Artwork created by the program's participants will be on display in a public exhibit in conjunction with Veterans Day programming at the Illinois Veterans Home in November.
