Three Quincy Notre Dame girls soccer players -- junior midfielder Anna Stokes, freshman midfielder Ellie Peters and junior goalkeeper Delaney Walker -- are offering a behind-the-scenes look at the Raiders' trip to the state tournament. Here's some of what they have experienced:

Championship day began early. The Raiders used space in the parking lot outside their hotel to do some early morning stretching and then got creative with ways to kill time before the Class 1A state championship at 5 p.m. against Winnetka North Shore Country Day. Their plans included a trip to the Fox Valley Mall. The rest of the afternoon was spent preparing to chase a title.

"At 8:15 this morning all the soccer players went outside and stretched. After, we all ate breakfast then went to our rooms. When 10:15 rolled around, we got on the bus and went to the mall. We shopped for a couple of hours. Then we went to lunch at Jason's Deli. Right now we are resting until we have to leave for the field," Peters wrote.
