To The Herald-Whig:

Recently, while enjoying our lunch at Sprout's Inn my wife and I were surprised when Randi, our waitress, told us our lunch was paid for by a person who noticed my military past noted on my cap.

After my return from Bien Hoa in the Republic of Vietnam in 1971, I was not welcomed and greeted as I have been in the recent years since we've lived in Quincy.

I thank that person. I will pass on his generosity.
