Norbert and Carrie Witt

Norbert and Carrie Witt of Palmyra, Mo., will mark their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebration in January, hosted by their children.

Mr. Witt and the former Carrie Sturhan were married Dec. 26, 1967.

Mrs. Witt is a daughter of the late Howard and Dorothy Sturhan, formerly of Quincy. Mr. Witt is a son of the late Meredith and Edith Witt of Paloma, Ill.

They are the parents of Meredith Witt, Marilyn (Mike) Lewis, Carolyn (Chuck) Avis, Warren (Joni) Witt, Myron (Anita) Witt and the late Jonathan (Marcia) Witt. They have eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Witt retired as a longtime sales manager at Tom Boland Ford in Hannibal, Mo. Prior to that, he owned his own dealership in Camdenton, Mo., was a sales manager at Jappy Dickson's in Quincy for many years, and farmed while his children were growing up.

Mrs. Witt retired as a new account representative after many years at Palmyra State Bank. Prior to that, she was a real estate agent at the Lake of the Ozarks, as well as in Mount Sterling, Ill. She also worked on the family farm.

Together they enjoy traveling, searching for and refurbishing antique tractors and furniture, attending antique tractor shows and spending time with their large family.
