Hannibal man arrested in connection with attempted robbery of Papa John's delivery driver

HANNIBAL, Mo. -- The Hannibal Police Department arrested a Hannibal man Saturday night in connection with an attempted robbery of a Papa John's delivery driver.

Officers investigated reports of the attempted robbery at 7:50 p.m. in the alley behind the 1800 block of Broadway and saw a 34-year-old black male in the area who matched the description of the suspect. The man was detained, and two witnesses were able to identify him.

The man was arrested for first-degree attempted robbery. He was taken to the Hannibal Police Department then to the Marion County Sheriff's Department on a 24-hour hold, pending issuance of an arrest warrant.
