MARCELINE, Ill. -- An Ursa teen was injured in an accident Thursday morning on Ill. 96 in Marceline.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department reports a 1993 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Maloni Langi, 28, of Utah, rear-ended a 2004 Nissan Sentra driven by a 16-year-old female from Ursa at 9:13 a.m.

The department reported Langi said he looked down for a second and didn't see the Sentra stopped and waiting on another vehicle in front of it to make a turn. Langi was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The driver of the Nissan was transported to Blessing Hospital with minor injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The department was assisted by the Adams County Ambulance and the Mendon Fire Department.
