Motorcycle accident injures Oklahoma driver

CENTER, Mo. -- An Oklahoma motorcyclist was injured when he was thrown from his bike at 10:45 a.m. Sunday on Mo. 19 two miles south of Center.

William S. Smith, 65, of Guthrie, Okla., was taken by Ralls County EMS to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Smith was southbound on a 2003 Harley-Davidson when he lost control while trying to avoid hitting another vehicle. He was wearing a helmet, police said.

Also assisting were the Ralls County Sheriff's Department and Ralls County Fire and Rescue.
