The weeks continue to wind down at our favorite home away from home -- Quincy Raceways. That means each Sunday night becomes more important than the last since all six of the track championships remain up in the air. With only six weeks of points racing remaining, here's what to expect Sunday night at the Broadway Bullring: Late models Pick to click: It's about time for Dustin Griffin to find his way to victory lane again. He's been minus a checkered flag now for seven weeks. Best bet for a comeback: Justin Reed's admitted up-and-down season should be due for an "up" week if recent history is any indication. Noteworthy: Griffin is the only series driver to win a heat, the dash and feature on the same night three times this season. Mark Burgtorf has done it twice. Modifieds Pick to click: It would be difficult to go against Steven DeLonjay right now. If we wins tonight, that would be four out of the last five. Best bet for a comeback: Dave Wietholder is way overdue for some good luck. Noteworthy: Here's a look at the modified career victory leaders since 1999, and remember (Steven) DeLonjay has only been in a mod since 2008: Overall Races 1. Michael Long, 196 2. Hank DeLonjay, 130 3. Tony Dunker, 119 4. Wyatt Lantz, 77 5. Vance Wilson, 76 6. Dave Wietholder, 62 7. Steven DeLonjay, 54 8. Robbie Reed, 48 9. Joe Hooper, 47 10. Joe Bliven, 45 11. Brandon Lennox, 44 12. Jared Schlipman, 43 13. Ryan Meyer, 41 Features 1. Michael Long, 77 2. Hank DeLonjay, 42 3. Vance Wilson, 31 4. Wyatt Lantz, 24 5. Steven DeLonjay, 20 Sport mods Pick to click: Only once this season has Tony Dunker gone two straight weeks without winning a feature. He should return to the top spot this week with his 10th victory of the summer. Best bet for a comeback: Dunker. After all, anything less than a win this season has been considered a slump for The Villain. And last week he finished second. Noteworthy: Bobby Anders' feature win last week was the 51st of his career at the Bullring. The first 45 came in a hobby stock. Stock cars Pick to click: I think this is the week Terry Houston runs down Abe Huls. (Not over, but down.) Best bet for a comeback: It would be nice for Aaron Brocksieck to simply come back. We miss that No. 40. Noteworthy: Since the inception of the series in 2008, Houston (16) and Huls (15) have the most second-place feature finishes. Houston has had 11 in the last two seasons. Hobby stocks Pick to click: Tanner Klingele has the most second-half points and last week won his fifth feature of the year. The crystal ball says this week will be No. 6. Best bet for a comeback: Brian Hoener is about due for one of his powerhouse feature runs. Noteworthy: The leading feature winners in this series since 2007 when the bombers became the hobby stocks: Steve Carlin, 19 Bobby Anders, 16 Jake Powers, 12 Tanner Klingele, 11 Jim Powell, 9 Since 1999 Eddie Dieker, 39 Steve Carlin, 32 Adam Birck, 24 Bobby Anders, 16 Jim Powell, 14 Jake Powers, 12 Bill Genenabcher, 12 Tanner Klingele, 11 Bobby Uppinghouse Jr., 10 Sport compacts Pick to click: I'm picking Austen Becerra to win his sixth feature in the last seven weeks. Not exactly going out on a limb, eh?? Best bet for a comeback: Skippy Dunker. Just because. Noteworthy: Neither of the top two drivers in points (Seth Woodruff, Kim Abbott) has won a main event since May 13. -- seighinger@whig.com/221-3377
