Two women injured in one-car accident

BOWLING GREEN, Mo. -- Two women were injured in a one-car accident at 12:55 p.m. Monday on Route UU west of County Road 162.

Charlotte A Kerns, 69, of Curryville, and her passenger, Brenda K. Peak, 45, of Bowling Green, were taken by Pike County EMS to Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana for treatment of moderate injuries. Each was wearing a seat belt.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Kerns was driving a 2007 Ford east on Route UU when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.
