Published: 8/8/2012 | Updated: 6/17/2013

Three individuals in Monroe and Marion counties were arrested in the past week by the Northeast Missouri Narcotics Task Force.

The NEMO Task Force reports it apprehended John C. Mayfield, 27 of 525 First St., Monroe City, after an Aug. 2 search of that residence yielded marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a firearm. Mayfield was arrested at the scene and later charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, a Class C felony.

Mayfield remains lodged in the Monroe County Jail following Judge Michael P. Wilson issuing a $10,000 cash-only warrant.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted the NEMO Task Force.

The Task Force arrested two people, Brian French, 23, and Chayse Mosley, at 1901 Chestnut in Hannibal, Mo., following a search. Authorities said the search yielded a half pound of marijuana packaged for sale. French and Mosley were arrested at the scene.

French was charged with possession of marijuana of more than 35 grams, a Class C felony. Judge John J. Jackson issued a $25,000 warrant for French, who remains lodged in the Marion County Jail.

Assisting at the scene were the Marion County Sheriff's Department, Palymra Police Department and Lewis County Sheriff's Department.
