Adams County has received a grant of $28,695 to help pay for operating expenses for the county Emergency Management Agency.

John Simon, director of the Adams County Emergency Management Agency, said the county must match the amount of the grant.

The Illinois Emergency Management Agency awarded $4 million in grants to 120 city and county emergency management agencies across the state. The Emergency Management Performance Grants are funded through a grant that IEMA receives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Also receiving grants were Brown County ($10,808), Hancock County ($10,033) and Pike County ($18,353).
