Two Monroe City residents were injured in a one-car accident at 10:19 p.m. Sunday on County Route A, five miles northwest of Center.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a westbound 1999 Mercury Sable station wagon driven by Kollin G. Whelan, 21, of Monroe City, swerved to miss a deer, traveled off the left side of the road, struck a rock bluff and came to rest in a ditch.

Whelan and his passenger, 1-year-old Keltyn C. Whelan, were taken by private auto to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Assisting were the Ralls County Sheriff's Department and Center Fire Department.
