QUINCY -- The Quincy man accused of stabbing his son last month in Quincy will be arraigned on charges next week.

Jay D. Schroder, 62, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday in Adams County Circuit Court. He faces charged of aggravated domestic battery, aggravated unlawful restraint and aggravated battery in the June 17 stabbing.

The Quincy Police Department said officers were called at 2:24 p.m. to 1709 Sycamore, where they found man identified as Schroder's son with a puncture wound to the upper shoulder and chest area, and a cut on his forehead. He was taken by Adams County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers said Schroder, 62, of 1709 Sycamore, caused the injury, and they recovered a knife they said was used in the stabbing.

Schroder will return to court July 18 for arraignment. He is being held in the Adams County Jail on $25,000 bond.
