PALMYRA, Mo. -- Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday in Marion County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 2016 Hyundai Accent driven by Mary E. Schueler, 53, of O'Fallon, and a 2000 Ford Explorer driven by Marion G. Wilson, 65, of Hannibal, were both heading north on U.S. 61 about three miles southeast of Palmyra when the vehicles collided.

Police say Schueler's vehicle struck the rear of Wilson's vehicle, causing the Explorer to run off the road and overturn multiple times.

Wilson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by the Marion County Ambulance Service to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., for treatment of moderate injuries.

Schueler, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by a Marion County ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The Palmyra Fire Department and the Marion County Sheriff's Department assisted at the crash scene.
