Adams County loses title game in sixth inning

BEARDSTOWN, Ill. -- A one-out single in the bottom of the sixth inning drove in the winning run as Adams County lost 2-1 to South Springfield in the Little League District 17 championship game on Wednesday night at Schmoldt Park.

Adams County scored its only run in the first inning. Nolan Robb walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Brady Lowe. It was the only hit of the game for Adams County.

South Springfield tied the game with a run in the bottom of the first. Lowe allowed four hits in 5 1/3 innings for Adams County.
