Jack's Discount stores helped during flood, too

To The Herald-Whig:

Don't forget the hometown heroes of the Flood of '93, like the Jack's Discount stores.

The National Guard would call in to the Penn-Daniels offices on 24th Street, the corporate headquarters for the Jack's stores, with lists of the supplies it needed. Jack's would then load up a van and deliver the supplies to the Guard unit that needed them.

At the height of the flood-fighting effort, Jack's was making daily deliveries to the Guardsmen working on the levees.
