Bernard "Bernie" and Margaret "Maggie" Levy of 15329 342nd St., Pleasant Hill, have marked their 50th wedding anniversary. A celebration with family was held in May in Dumfries, Va., hosted by Abigail Levy Breeding.
Mr. and Mrs. Levy were married June 16, 1968, at Washington Hebrew Congregation in Washington, D.C.
Mrs. Levy, the former Margaret Berry, is a daughter of the late Henry Burdette and Mary Eva Berry. Mr. Levy is a son of the late Charles and Rose Levy.
They are the parents of L. Daniel "Dan" and Karen Levy of Pleasant Hill, Calif., Geoffrey B. Levy of Lone Tree, Colo., and Abigail M. Breeding (husband Nat) of Dumfries. They have seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Levy spent the early part of their careers in Maryland. They spent most of their married lives and careers in Stamford, Conn., before moving to Mrs. Levy's family farm in Pleasant Hill in June 2015.
Mr. Levy is a retired mainframe computer programmer. He retired from IBM, and was employed by Catholic Charities in Connecticut. He volunteers to deliver meals to seniors in Pittsfield.
Mrs. Levy was a university adjunct teacher in math and computer science at the University of Connecticut before her retirement. She tutors at John Wood Community College in Pittsfield and volunteers at Fairfield Library in Pleasant Hill.
They are members of Temple B'Nai Sholom in Quincy and Temple Sinai in Stamford.
The couple met on an IBM bowling league.
