PARIS, Mo. -- A Holliday man has been arrested in connection with a February fatal crash in Monroe County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that it arrested Cory S. Putnam, 28, Monday afternoon in connection with the Feb. 22 death of 31-year-old Heath T. McCall of Holliday.

Court records show Putnam was charged with driving while intoxicated-death of another, four counts of second-degree assault and four counts of driving while intoxicated-serious physical injury. He also faces misdemeanor charges of failure to drive on the right half of the road resulting in an accident, operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, and driving while intoxicated.

The Highway Patrol said a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado was heading north on Mo. 151 south of County Road 1006 when it left the road and overturned several times before coming to a rest in a field. The crash occurred at 2:34 a.m.

Police said the road was icy.

Putnam and three other people in the vehicle suffered serious injuries in the crash.

The traffic crash report indicated that police initially did not know who was driving the truck at the time of the crash.

Court records show Putnam is free on a surety bond. He is set to return to court July 10 for a preliminary hearing.
