VANDALIA, Mo. -- An early Sunday morning motorcycle crash during a police pursuit in Pike County injured two.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide driven by Mark A. Teague, 40, of Vandalia, failed to yield to Vandalia Police, which began pursuit into Pike County. The patrol said the driver was southbound on Route V at Pike County Road 447 at 12:45 a.m. The driver attempted a right turn onto County Road 447, the patrol said, but the motorcycle began to skid and overturned, ejecting him and a passenger, Shari J. Love, 46, of Vandalia.

Teague was taken by Air Evac to Missouri University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries. Love was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
