John Wood Community College
John Wood Community College recently announced Student Life Awards for the 2017-2018 Academic Year.
Recipients are chosen based on contributions to JWCC clubs and organizations, community involvement, leadership, academics and embodiment of the College's core values of excellence, accountability, integrity, servant leadership and lifelong learning.
Madeline Davis of Camp Point received the Outstanding First Year Student Award.
Madelyn Heinecke of Fowler was selected as Outstanding Returning Student. Heinecke was president of the Student Government Association, a member of Ag Club and a TRiO student.
Monica Taft of Quincy received the Outstanding Non-Traditional Student Award. Taft served as vice president and president of the Alpha Tau Gamma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.
Jennifer Grindstaff was honored with the Advisor of the Year Award. Grindstaff is a language and communication instructor and an advisor for Phi Theta Kappa.
Phi Theta Kappa was selected as Student Organization of the Year.
