GULF SHORES, Ala. -- Logan Prewitt of Culver-Stockton College competed in the men's pole vault during the NAIA national track and field championships Saturday.

Prewitt failed to clear his opening height of 15 feet, 1 inch. After sitting through a four-hour weather delay and three separate warmups, Prewitt passed on the meet's opening height of 14-9.

Prewitt, a Clark County High School graduate and the only C-SC athlete to advance to the national championships, qualified by vaulting 15-4 1/4 during the Mines Last Chance meet at Golden, Colo., during the final week of the season.
