Drake forces overtime with 3-pointer, then scores game-winner

WINCHESTER, Ill. -- Darian Drake knocked down a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 10 seconds remaining to force overtime, then made a contested layup in the closing seconds of overtime to lead Brown County to a 59-57 victory over Triopia in the fifth-place game of the Winchester Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Hornets trailed by as many as 12 points, but they tied the score at 46 when Jonah Farve knocked down a 3-pointer with two minutes remaning. Triopia pushed the lead back to four with 43 seconds remaining, but Farve knocked down a second 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 50-49. Triopia scored again to push the deficit back to three before Drake knocked down the 3-pointer to send the game to overtime.

Triopia's Broc Moore knocked down a 3-pointer to go up 57-55 with less than two minutes to play in overtime. Brown County answered to tie the game at 57. Triopia held the ball for the last shot but missed an eight-footer with six seconds remaining. Tanner Sussenbach crashed the boards and passed the ball to Drake for the winning shot.

Drake led Brown County (12-4) with 20 points. Tanner Sussenbach scored 15 points and Farve added 14.
