Blowout propels West Hancock to Hancock County title

CARTHAGE, Ill. -- The West Hancock boys basketball team left no doubt Saturday night.

The Titans dominated Illini West in a 75-19 victory in the Hancock County Tournament championship game.

West Hancock, ranked No. 3 in the Class 2A state poll, jumped out to a 18-6 lead after the first quarter, then scored the first 10 points of the second quarter.

The Titans, who led 43-13 at halftime, allowed the Chargers to score only six points in the second half.

Drake Hammel led four West Hancock players scoring in double figures, finishing with 19 points. Riley Langford added 18 for the Titans (19-0).

Jackson Porter led Illini West (10-8) with nine points.
