Wilson's early goal sets tone for Canton

CANTON, Mo. -- The Canton boys soccer team defeated Kirksville 2-0 Thursday night.

LaVion Wilson gave Canton (10-9) an early 1-0 lead in the 16th minute as he scored on an assist by Ethan Wingerter.

The game remained 1-0 until the second half when Canton's Levi Lindsey scored the second goal in the 60th minute, sealing the victory.

Canton had just six shots.

Canton will play Belle on Tuesday in the first round of district play.
