QUINCY -- The Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County will host its second annual "Strassenfest at the Mansion" from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday on the grounds of the John Wood Mansion, 425 S. 12th.
The event features a street festival that celebrates Quincy's German heritage. German food, craft beer and live music by Jukebox Reloaded will be available.
The HSQAC's livery building, which was opened to the public for the first time in 2016, will be open for tours, and a gift shop will be set up to sell merchandise and tickets to the Woodland Cemetery ghost tours.
Strassenfest will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5 p.m. to recognize Quincy Preserves and various donors who supported a recent campaign to make repairs to the mansion's porch.
