Victory gets Canton's record to .500 level

CANTON, Mo. -- The Canton boys soccer team scored two goals in each half in a 4-0 victory over Elsberry on Monday.

Levi Lindsey put the Tigers (9-9) up early when he took a pass from LaVion Wilson and found the back of the net in just the third minute. Trey Metz scored in the 20th minute to put Canton up 2-0 heading into halftime.

Wilson netted a goal of his own in the 45th minute, and Ethan Wingerter scored in the 63rd minute for the final score.

Brandon Hudnall made three saves in goal to get the shutout for Canton, which outshot Elsberry 12-3.
