C-SC holds on to early lead, takes Heart victory

CANTON, Mo. -- The Culver-Stockton College women's soccer team jumped to an early lead and held off Baker for a 2-1 victory on Saturday night in Heart of America Athletic Conference play.

Makkel Parrott scored C-SC's first goal in the 26th minute off Maggie Houska's corner kick. The Wildcats (7-4-1, 3-2-1 Heart) added to their lead early in the second half after Leah Miller's goal off Janelle St. Pierre's cross to the far post in the 51st minute. Baker scored its only goal on Kady Dieringer's free kick from 30 yards out in the 57th minute.
