Harvey and Peggy Lancaster of 3428 Branchwood Drive were honored for their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception and dance Sept. 9 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, hosted by their children.
Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster were married Sept. 3, 1967, at First Christian Church in Memphis, Mo.
Mrs. Lancaster is the former Peggy Frederick, daughter of the late Dean and Louise Frederick. Mr. Lancaster is a son of the late Basil and Clara Lancaster.
They are the parents of Ginger Whittaker of Quincy, Jill (Richard) Brady of Greenville, S.C., and Gina (Brent) Hochgraber of Terrell, Texas. They have five grandchildren.
Mr. Lancaster was employed by Electric Wheel Co., Moorman Livestock Equipment and Kuester Tool and Die before becoming self-employed doing construction and property rentals.
Mrs. Lancaster was a homemaker and also worked at E.L. Smith and Sons Compressor Co., Gardner Denver Inc. and as a property rental manager.
They now take care of their rental properties and enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, traveling, playing cards and attending dances with their friends.
The couple met during their freshman year in high school and were best friends and high school sweethearts through their senior year of school.
