VanTress tosses one-hit shutout for Palmyra

PALMYRA, Mo. -- Lauren VanTress pitched a one-hit shutout and struck out eight to help the Palmyra softball team to a 6-0 victory over South Shelby Tuesday night in a Clarence Cannon Conference game.

Palmyra got on the board in the first after Megan Stone scored on an RBI fielder's choice by Bailey Lovelace. Palmyra scored two more in the second inning. Alana Comstock had an RBI double to score Morgan Ingram, and Comstock later scored on a Stone grounder.

Stone hit an RBI single to score Grace Watson in the fourth inning, and Watson hit an RBI single to score Ingram in the sixth inning.
