JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- Three second-half goals by the Quincy Notre Dame boys soccer team tied the game, but the Raiders couldn't get the go-ahead goal in a 5-3 loss to Chatham Glenwood Monday night at Illinois College.

QND (8-3) fell behind 3-0 in the first half. Glenwood (8-1) scored two goals within in the first 30 minutes, then another one right before halftime.

"We just came out really flat," QND coach Greg Reis said. "They came out well and ready to go."

QND's Colby Kapp, however, scored twice in the 61st minute -- both on assists from Mitchell Murphy -- to trim the deficit to 3-2. Seven minutes later, Macker Little scored to tie the game.

The game wasn't tied for long, as a minute later Glenwood's Darian Turner capitalized when QND couldn't clear a ball out of the box. QND pressed to get a late game-tying goal, which turned into Glenwood scoring a fifth goal on a breakaway in the 73rd minute.

Glenwood had 14 shots, while QND had 12.

"We played brilliantly for 30 minutes," Reis said. "Unfortunately, the game is 80 minutes long."
