Hamilton Public Library to mark 115 years with open house

HAMILTON, Ill. -- Hamilton Public Library has several events planned for September.

Everyone is invited to attend Friends of the Library at 1 p.m. Sept. 14. The group is in the process of remodeling part of the library. New members are welcome.

The library will hold an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 21. The event, sponsored by Friends of the Library, will commemorate the library's 115th anniversary. Attendees will be able to see the remodeling work the group has done.

Preschool story time will be held from 11:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 12, with a theme of back to school; Sept. 19, with a theme of autumn; and Sept. 26, with pumpkins galore as the theme. The event includes finger plays, songs and a craft for each child.

The adult book club will meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 25 to discuss the book "Mundy's Law" by Monty McCord. Call the library at 217-847-2219 for a copy.
