TROY, Mo. -- The Quincy Notre Dame girls tennis team earned second place in the six-team Troy Triad Invitational on Saturday.
QND awarded a first-round bye, then beat Mascoutah 4-1 in the semifinals. Clair Moore won her match 6-4, 6-3, and Emily Vonderheide won in a tie-breaker 2-6, 6-4 (10-3). The No. 2 doubles team Abigail Ley and Jamie Steinkamp won 6-1, 6-1, and the No. 3 doubles team of Kori Obert and Amelia Smith won by forfeit.
The Raiders lost 4-1 to Troy Triad. Ley and Steinkamp won 7-6, 6-2, but the other two doubles teams lost in tie-breakers.
