PEORIA, Ill. -- The Pittsfield girls cross country finished 21st out of 44 teams on Saturday at the First to the Finish Invitational at Detweiller Park.
The Saukees' lead runner was Kara Williams, who placed 76th out of 450 girls, finishing in 21:00. Teammates Bailey Fortney and Alex Gomez finished first and second and led Rock Falls to the team title.
The Pittsfield boys placed 45th out of 55 teams. Eli Ten Eyck, the Saukees' top runner, did not race because he was taking the ACT. Bryan Piper had Pittsfield's best finish, placing 77th out of 589 runners with the time of 17:07.
