PETERSBURG, Ill. -- Jacob Bryan finished first in the boys race with a time of 16:23.8 and helped Illini West cross country team win the title at the PORTA Invitational on Saturday with 50 points.
The Chargers' Matthew Peacock finished in seventh with a time of 17:26.8, and Dalton Melvin was ninth with a time of 17:33.9.
QND finished second with 81 points. Zach Haley finished second with a time of 16:41:70. The Raiders' Steven Liao was 16th with a time of 18:18.6, and Alex Mast was 22nd with a time of 18:47.7.
Liberty did not have enough runners for a team score. Mason Tate finished in 13th place with a time of 18:03.2.
The Liberty girls came in second place, one point behind Springfield Lutheran. Katelyn Robbins led the Eagles with a time of 18:22.5, which was the top individual time, followed by Carrie Balzer in ninth place with a time of 19:59.1, and Kaela Wellman in 12th place with a time of 20:56.6.
Quincy Notre Dame finished fifth with a score of 126. Ella Borrowman finished in 11th with a time of 20:31.6. Lindsey Ayo finished 17th with a time of 21:46.4, and Katelyn Dixon placed 29th with a time of 23:04.8.
Illini West did not have enough runners for a team score. Katie Rhodes had the best time for the Chargers, coming in 48th place in 25:32.6.
