ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- Olivia Clayton went undefeated at No. 1 singles, Natalia Fasano and Callie Nicholas won all four matches they played at No. 1 doubles and Isabella Trinh and Sami Santos went 4-0 at No. 2 doubles as the Quincy High School girls tennis team won the Rock Island Invitational on Saturday.
Moline, Sterling, United Township and Rock Island all participated in the round-robin format for two singles divisions and three doubles divisions, with each match played to eight games. Freshman Taylor Kruse went 2-2 at No. 2 doubles, and Katarine Vrtikapa and Haley Katenin won three of four matches. The Blue Devils were missing two of their top eight players because they were taking the ACT Saturday morning.
